Find answers to common questions about 11+ Vocab Quest

What is 11+ Vocab Quest?

11+ Vocab Quest is an interactive vocabulary learning app designed to help students prepare for 11+ grammar school entrance exams. It uses one focused word set at a time with a clear learning phase and multiple rounds on the same set, smart review that highlights words needing practice, spaced repetition, and an AI Buddy to make vocabulary mastery engaging and effective.

How is 11+ Vocab Quest different from other vocabulary apps?

Most apps stop at flash cards or one-style quizzes, with little structure for long-term retention. We're built for 11+ grammar school preparation: the same word is tested in six different ways, review is driven by how your child actually performs, AI Buddy helps when a word won't stick, and you can prioritise which words to learn while the app highlights words that still need practice. Vocabulary is the foundation for 11+ preparation and 11+ Vocab Quest brings structure to your child's vocabulary preparation.

How does spaced repetition work?

Our system uses spaced repetition to keep words fresh. Review rounds bring back words you've learned before—with struggling words prioritised—so you reinforce memory over time. It's not learn and forget; we surface past words when they're most helpful.

What are word sets?

Word sets are focused groups of 10–30 words your child works on one set at a time. You start with a learning phase using flash cards, then complete multiple focussed rounds of questions on the same set. On Free, each set is 10 words; on Premium you can choose 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 words per set. Across the week you review words that need extra practice, revisit earlier words, and gently introduce new ones while building toward full mastery.

Is it free?

Yes! You can start learning for free. Create an account and begin your vocabulary journey immediately. Premium plans are available for unlimited access to all word sets and features.

How was 11+ Vocab Quest designed?

We designed 11+ Vocab Quest with parents and 11+ tutors after dozens of in-depth interviews to understand their biggest challenges with vocabulary and revision. The app is built around those insights: focused word sets, clear learning and review phases, and flexible tools that fit real family schedules and real revision routines, not just theory.

How do I track my progress?

Your dashboard shows word set completion, word mastery status, learning streaks, and detailed analytics. Use My Words and My Progress to see which words you've mastered and which need more practice.

How do I start learning?

Go to your dashboard and either start your current suggested word set or pick words in My Words and add them to your queue. Start when you're ready: first complete the learning phase with flash cards, then work through the focussed rounds for that same set over the week.

What's the difference between the learning phase and rounds?

Learning phase: you see each word as a flash card with meaning, synonyms, antonyms, and usage so your child understands the word first. Rounds: you answer questions on those same words (meaning, synonym, antonym, usage, context) across multiple passes. In these rounds we clearly tag words that need extra practice and bring back earlier words for review.

What are quest levels?

As you master words, you climb 36 quest levels. Each level represents progress toward the full 1,800-word vocabulary. Complete word sets to advance through the levels and unlock new vocabulary.

How do I master a word?

The app tracks your confidence as you learn during the learning phase, in focussed rounds, and when bringing back those words for review. When the system determines you know a word well enough, it becomes mastered. Mastered words are tracked in My Words and count toward your quest level.

What happens if I miss a day?

Don't worry! Your progress is saved. Your streak will reset, but you can always continue where you left off.

How many words are included?

11+ Vocab Quest includes 1,800 essential vocabulary words. You learn them in word sets of 10–30 words, focusing on one set at a time. Climb 36 quest levels as you master the full vocabulary.

What question types are included?

Our rounds feature 5 different question types: Meaning, Synonym, Antonym, Fill in the Blank, and Contextual Meaning. This variety helps ensure comprehensive vocabulary mastery.

Can I prioritise specific words for my child to learn?

Yes! In My Words you can browse all 1,800 words and add any word to your learning queue. Parents and children can pick and prioritise which words to learn first—whether it's vocabulary from school, words from a practice paper, or simply words your child wants to focus on. The system suggests an order, but you’re in control, and the new engine then builds focused word sets from those choices.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes, we offer a no-questions-asked 14-day money-back guarantee for new Premium subscriptions. Simply contact us within 14 days of your initial purchase for a full refund. We may optionally ask for feedback to help us improve, but it's completely voluntary.

Can I reuse the Lifetime plan for a younger sibling?

Yes. The Lifetime plan includes one full progress reset so you can clear all existing data and let a younger sibling start their own fresh journey.
